Health & safety

Health and safety comes first.

A safety-led painting and decorating contractor — qualified supervisors, trained operatives and site-specific RAMS on every project.

Safety first, on every site

Health and safety leads every decision we make. We continually review our procedures to meet — and where possible exceed — our obligations under current UK health, safety and environmental regulations.

Client commitment

We give clients the same commitment to health, safety and environmental sustainability that we give to programme, quality and finish. Compliance is treated as core to the contract, not an add-on.

Supervised projects

Where required, projects are managed by qualified working or non-working supervisors so day-to-day site rules, permits and client requirements are met without disruption to the programme.

Risk assessments & method statements

Site-specific RAMS are produced for every project and briefed to the team before works begin. COSHH data sheets, safe systems of work and permits are maintained on site throughout.

Trained & qualified

A qualified, vetted workforce.

Every EPDS operative holds current site cards and the trade qualifications appropriate to the work they carry out. Our managers and supervisors hold the following as a minimum:

  • 100% CSCS compliant workforce
  • SSSTS and SMSTS qualified supervisors
  • NVQ Level 2 to Level 6 trade qualifications
  • PASMA — mobile access tower training
  • IPAF — powered access / MEWP training
  • First Aid at Work certified operatives
  • All staff trained for roles required
  • DBS and Enhanced DBS checked personnel
On site

How we work day to day.

Toolbox talks

Regular toolbox talks keep the workforce briefed on current risks, seasonal hazards, near-miss learning and any changes to site rules.

Branded PPE

All required PPE is supplied by EPDS in company-branded hi-vis so our operatives are easy to identify on site. Client-branded PPE can be supplied on request.

Environmental responsibility

We specify low-VOC and water-based systems where possible, manage waste responsibly and recycle packaging and materials through licensed carriers.

Incident reporting

A clear reporting and investigation process covers accidents, near misses and observations, feeding lessons back into RAMS and toolbox talks.
